Else you can use garlic oil to massage your back. To make garlic oil, heat some coconut oil, mustard oil or sesame oil on a low flame and then add eight to ten cloves of garlic in it. Fry the garlic for some time until it is brown. Strain the oil and allow it to come down to room temperature. Use this oil to massage your back softly. Leave it for some time and then take a bath in warm water.

2, Ginger Root
Ginger root which is used to cure vomiting can also be used in the treatment of back pain. The anti-inflammatory compounds available in ginger can actually give you relief from backache. During back pain, cut thin slices of fresh ginger root and put them in a pan of boiling water. Simmer and boil it on low heat for about half an hour. Allow the mixture to come down to room temperature, strain it and add honey and then drink it. Else you can make herbal tea using half teaspoon of black pepper corns, half teaspoon of cloves and one teaspoon of dry ginger powder.

3, Chamomile Tea
A hot cup of tea made of chamomile will give relief to the tense muscle tissues and soon your backache problem will vanish. To make this herbal tea take one tablespoon chamomile flower and add it to one cup of boiling water and allow it to steep for ten minutes. Drink one to three cups of this herbal tea in a day. Instead of the herb, you can also try prepackaged chamomile tea.

4, Epsom Salt
Epsom salt can be used to ease pain and relieve inflammation. Hence, you can use it in the treatment of backache. Take Epsom salt and mix it with hot water to make a thick paste. Now take a towel and soak in it this solution. Squeeze the towel and apply it on your back to get some comfort. The heat from the towel will also reduce the swelling. You can add two cups of Epsom salt to your bathwater and allow your body to soak in it for half an hour.

5, Honey
Honey has been found effective in curing backache to a great extent. You can mix one tablespoon of honey in warm water and drink it in the morning, on an empty stomach to soothe backache. This is a simple and easy way to get relief from backache. Else take one teaspoon honey and add a pinch of cinnamon powder to it and eat it. Take this mixture two times a day for a few days to enjoy good results.

6, Ice Packs
You can apply cold compresses to get some relief from the pain. Ice can help a lot to reduce pain and swelling. To make a cold compress, take a bowl of crushed cubes of ice and put them in plastic bag and wrap it in a towel, and then apply to the affected area for ten to fifteen minutes. After half an hour, repeat it to cure the pain. Instead of ice you can also use a bag of frozen vegetables wrapped in a towel.

7, Milk
When suffering from backache you must regularly drink milk. Milk is a rich source of calcium which your body needs for strong bones and healthy muscles. When your body gets adequate amount of calcium your backache problem will vanish away. You can drink milk as it is or add some honey to sweeten it before drinking it. Else you can make a mixture of cuscus grass and sugar taken in equal amount and consume it twice daily with a cup of warm milk.

8, Herbal Oil
During backache, it is important to massage your back with some herbal oil. You can take any herbal oil such as eucalyptus oil, almond oil, olive oil or coconut oil. Take any herbal oil and warm it and then use the oil to massage the back. It is advisable not to put too much pressure and try to be gentle. In case you are not able to do the massage yourself, you can always ask someone to help you. After a few minutes of massage, the muscles will relax and you will get relief from the pain.

9, Basil Leaves
Basil leaves can also come to your rescue when suffering from backache. Take eight to ten basil leaves and add them to one cup of water and boil it until the water level is reduced to half. Allow the solution to come down to room temperature and then add a pinch of salt. Drink this solution once a day to get relief from mild backache. In case of severe backache, you must drink this solution twice a day.

10, Wheat
Wheat can also be used as an effective home remedy for backache. Along with wheat, you will also need Cuscus grass and coriander. Soak handful of wheat in water, overnight. Next morning add cuscus grass and coriander to it. Finally add one cup of milk to it and boil it for a few minutes until you get a thick solution. Drink this concoction twice daily. It will work as analgesic and soon you will get relief from backache.
